Cath hard at work in the studio printing our bird panels. Remember how clean and white our table cover was? It didn't last long! The new layer of colours and shapes gives you a glimpse of some things we've been working on.

This weekend the Magnolia Square markets are on at Paddington Town Hall - we won't have a stall there this time, but they are a fantastic showcase of Sydney's creative talents and a great place to do some shopping. So much more inspiring and enjoyable than a shopping centre!
As a special treat for Prints Charming readers you can download a free double entry pass - just click here.
The markets are open:
Friday 25th Feb 10am-9pm
Saturday 26th Feb 10am-5pm
Sunday 27th Feb 10am-4pm
There is more information about getting to the markets and the retailers who will be participating right here.

The big print table at the studio is where all the Prints Charming handprinted fabrics are created. After three and a half years the table was in serious need of a re-cover... the original white calico had been covered with layer upon layer of ink.
Here's the old fabric, just before it was pulled off...
Even the back of the fabric is covered in designs, where ink has soaked through.
The plain tabletop is still there, under the purple felt.
And now the felt has been stretched out again, and it's freshly covered in nice new calico, ready for a fresh start.
The old cover is full of so many memories of hours printing fabric, so Cath and Kirsten have kept it and are trying to work out how to use it - it's like an archive of old designs, and a record of all the meters and meters of fabric printed. And it will be interesting to see just how this new plain white tabletop evolves over the next few years.

What a perfect sunny autumn day to welcome so many friends to our studio
for the Prints Charming book launch. Sun streaming into the studio which we
had set out with vignettes of projects from the book.
Beautiful flowers added to the colour, gifts from well wishers. Thankyou.
Overwhelmed is a word that comes to mind, to be surrounded by so much
joy,
friends and family led to high emotions and tears were flowing, happy
tears mind. It is truly a day that we won't forget.
Sarah, whose been with us from shed to studio, in Italy at the moment we know you're having a wonderful time. Jacqui, thankyou for keeping behind the scenes running smoothly for us, and being our stunt hand model! A big thankyou to Georgina our editor for making sure our ideas can be realised by those that read our book. Suzy for being our roving official photographer and capturing our day for us. Our team that keep all things Prints Charming happening. Sandra, Beverley, Zoe, Sam, Kristy and Varina for all your work in the studio we really value your help.
We think the photos say it all.

The Straight Cut Quilt that was featured in Better Homes and Gardens has been really popular, and we like it so much that we've put together another version using pinks and turquoise.
So often people think that quilts need a huge amount of time, but a design like this can be put together by anyone who can sew a straight line and looks really effective. The quilt top can be sewn together in a couple of hours, and the simple design shows off the fabrics beautifully. This size makes a perfect lap or cot quilt, and you can easily increase the size for a single or queen bed.
The next step is to assemble the batting and backing fabric and then do a little bit of hand quilting - we'll show you the finished quilt when it's done!

Have you seen the May issue of Better Homes and Garden magazine yet? This edition has an article on quilt kits, and our paisley throw quilt and cushion are featured on page 132.
You can buy Straight Cut quilt kit here and other fabrics here.
And here's another, completely different example of how the Prints Charming fabrics can be used. Sally came to visit us in the studio recently wearing a gorgeous skirt she made from our paisley fabric in another colourway - doesn't it look fantastic? The rows of trim at the bottom really make the colours in the fabric pop.
You can find more of our paisley fabrics here.
If you have any photos of things made from Prints Charming fabrics, paisley or otherwise, please email us - we'd love to see them.
